Rowan Women's Basketball Powers Past Rutgers-Newark, 94-61

GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan scored a New Jersey Athletic Conference win with its 94-61 victory over Rutgers-Newark Saturday afternoon at Esbjornson Gymnasium.

Dakota Adams led a balanced attack, totaling 16 points and 10 rebounds, both team highs, as the Profs won their fourth in a row. Grace Marshall (11 points) and Kristina Johnson (10 points) also finished in double figures.

Rowan used a 17-4 run to close the first quarter as the squad shot 60% in the frame to lead 27-14. The Scarlet Raiders used their own rally early in the second to pull within 27-23. A big three from Sam Rinaldi ignited a 14-3 spurt to put the home team up by double digits. Johnson's triple capped the scoring before halftime, giving the Profs a 50-32 edge at the break. Rowan limited Rutgers-Newark to just five points in the third to help the cause.

For the visitors, Kellie Martinez paced the Scarlet Raiders with 19 points. Ebony Odom Barnes added 13 with Samiyah Horton netting 11 off the bench.

Rinaldi, Nicole Mallard, Savanna Holt all finished with nine points apiece. The Profs snared 22 offensive rebounds, leading to 19 second-chance points and scored 30 points off of 24 Rutgers-Newark turnovers.

Rowan travels to Montclair State on Wednesday for a conference matchup starting at 6 p.m.
