#9 DePauw Moves to 11-1 with Win over MSOE

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw, ranked ninth by D3hoops.com and 10th in the latest coaches' poll, improved to 11-1 and advanced to the Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament game with a 68-31 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Raiders dropped to 3-6. The Tigers will face Piedmont in tomorrow's 4 p.m. championship game as the Lions defeated Franklin, 85-63, in the second game. DePauw scored the game's first eight points and the Raiders matched that to tie the contest at 8-8. The Tigers led, 13-10, at the quarter break and scored the first seven points in the second for a double-digit lead. The Tigers took a 29-16 lead into the halftime intermission and put the game away after opening the third period with 12 straight for a 41-16 advantage.

Maeve Summerville led DePauw with 14 points and a career-high six steals, while Jaida Smith grabbed a career-best seven rebounds and Grace Kinsey dished out seven assists.

Grace Ellington paced the Raiders with eight points with Chloe Kurkjain and Skylar Flanagan each hauling down five boards.

DePauw shot 36.5 percent from the floor to MSOE's 23.4 percent and the Tigers held a 52-26 edge on the glass.

In the day's second game, Piedmont never trailed on the way to the 22-point win. Livia Skinner paced the Lions with 22 points and shared rebounding honors with Emily wiley as each had eight. Jessica Nix led Franklin with 14 points and Jasmine Walker had six rebounds. Piedmont show 45.3 percent from the floor, while Franklin connected on 36.7 percent.
