WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Nine days off? Not a problem if you're Albion College women's basketball.

In day one of the Smokey Ballinger Classic, the Britons rolled past Kenyon College, 80-61 on Wednesday afternoon. Albion continues their hot season, improving to 11-1 overall as the Ladies drop to 3-9.

A balanced attack paced Albion, with three players scoring in double figures. Dareonna Little (13), Lolo Reed (11) and Elena Welker (10) were the leaders for the Britons. The Brits also got nine points from Riley Davis along with eight points each from Becca Ross and Audrey DeWaters off the bench.

Reed dished out a game-high five assists while grabbing nine boards – a season-best for the sophomore.

A small run by the Brits at the end of the first helped Albion hold a 27-18 lead after one. Four points from DeWaters and a basket by Ross composed the 6-0 run.

Maintaining pressure on Kenyon throughout the second quarter, Albion took a 45-32 lead into halftime. Near the end of the period, Reed completed a big and-one to build the Albion advantage.

Holding a double-digit lead for the rest of the contest, Albion tacked on to their lead in the third. The Britons scored the final seven points of the quarter, leading by nearly 20 going into the final 10 minutes.

All 11 players that saw the court scored in the victory. Ross and Reed totaled three steals apiece.

It was an uncharacteristic night from the foul line, as the Brits converted just eight of 15 attempts in the game.

Dominating the glass, Albion scored 21 second chance points. The Ladies finished with zero, recording just four offensive rebounds in the loss.

Backed by Little and DeWaters, Albion outscored Kenyon in the paint, 56-14.

Albion will play host Otterbein (7-3) for the tournament championship tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
