GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan had its four-game win streak snapped as Muhlenberg defeated the Profs, 60-52, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference tilt at Esbjornson Gymnasium.

Grace Marshall paced the home team with 16 points while Nicole Mallard kicked in 19 points and seven rebounds, but a late push from the Profs ran out of gas.

For the Mules, Mikaela McGarvey put together 15 points and 10 rebounds, with teammate Emily Unger netting 16 off the bench. McGarvey and Unger combined to hit six of the team's three-pointers.

Marshall, Mallard, and Kristina Johnson all hit threes in the first quarter to help Rowan get out to a 13-7 lead. Dakota Adams' bucket early in the second gave the Profs an 18-7 edge. The Mules responded with back-to-back-to-back-to-back trifectas as part of a 14-0 run to take a three-point lead. Muhlenberg would hold a 27-23 score at the break.

Rowan was outscored 18-7 in the third quarter and faced a 45-30 deficit heading into the final frame. McGarvey's triple put the visitors ahead, 48-32 early in the fourth. Rowan chipped away at the lead, getting a big three-point play from Mallard and a long-range bucket from Marshall to get within 52-40 with 4:38 to play.

A 6-0 spurt capped off by two buckets by Marshall off of two forced turnovers pulled Rowan to 55-50 with just under a minute to go. The Profs were unable to get any closer as Muhlenberg held off the late Rowan charge.

Adams ended the day with six points and tied Mallard for the team lead with seven boards. Mallard also added five assists and three steals while Johnson totaled eight points.

The team returns to action on Thursday, December 30th as the Profs take on Eastern in the Cabrini Classic in Radnor, Pa.
