Nine BW Women's Basketball Student-Athletes Land on Academic All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Nine Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball student-athletes have landed on the 2019-20 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, appeared in at least one varsity contest, and maintains a 3.5 minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Senior guards Riley Schill (Sheffield Village/Elyria Catholic) and Kasey Hughes (Springboro), senior guard/forward Kara Marshall (Copley/Akon Archbishop Hoban), junior forward Sydney Diedrich (Chardon/Gilmour Academy), sophomore forwards Lilly Edwards (Dublin/Coffman), Megan Hensel (Upper Sandusky), Maighread Laliberte (Norway, Maine/Oxford Hills), and Megan Scheibelhut (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic), and sophomore guard Sydney Snyder (Kirtland) are nine of 26 Yellow Jackets student-athletes to be recognized this winter.

Schill, who earns her third consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a biology major carrying a 3.98 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, as well as a member of the BW Honors Program, Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and Alpha Lambda Delta honoraries. For her career, Schill has appeared in 109 games, recording averages of 9.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. She is a three-time All-OAC selection, and finishes ranked tied for fifth in program history with 325 career assists, and eighth with 166 career steals.

Hughes, who earns her third consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a public relations major carrying a 3.89 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, the executive editor of BW's school newspaper, The Exponent, as well as a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Club. For her career, the 2018-19 All-OAC honorable mention has appeared in career 102 games, recording averages of 7.0 points, 2.o rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.

Marshall, who earns her third consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a pre-physical therapy and pre-applied health double major carrying a 3.76 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, as well as a member of the Pre-Physical Therapy Club and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. For her career, Marshall has appeared in 109 games, recording averages of 6.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.6 steals per game. This season, she was named the Chuck Resler Tournament Most Valuable Player, appeared on the All-OAC Tournament team, and was an All-OAC selection for the first time in her career.

Diedrich, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is a math education major carrying a 3.52 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, as well as a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. For her career, Diedrich has appeared in 83 games, recording averages of 6.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.

Edwards, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is an exercise science major carrying a 3.76 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, as well as a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. The two-time All-OAC selection and 2018-19 OAC Freshman of the Year has appeared in 54 career games, recording averages of 10.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.7 steals per game.

Hensel, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is a business administration and marketing double major carrying a 3.83 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, as well as a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. For her career, Hensel has appeared in 50 games, recording averages of 5.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 0.6 steals per game.

Laliberte, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is a neuroscience and biology double major carrying a 3.80 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, as well as a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. For her career, Laliberte has appeared in 24 games, recording averages of 0.3 points and 0.3 rebounds per game.

Scheibelhut, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is an exercise science major carrying a 3.83 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student. For her career, Scheibelhut has appeared in 56 games, recording averages of 2.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks per game.

Snyder, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is an exercise science major carying a 3.62 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar as well. For her career, Snyder has appeared in 52 games, recording averages of 2.4 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game.
