MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn St.-Harrisburg outscored Keuka College by 10 in the fourth quarter to defeat the Wolves 63-58 in women's basketball on Saturday.

Keuka College (9-11, 5-8 NEAC) had four players score in double figures with Riley Record (Palmyra, N.Y. / Palmyra-Macedon) leading the way. Sam Laranjo (Averill Park, N.Y. / Averill Park) and Meaghan McGwin (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) each added 11 points and Sydney Bloom (Penn Yan, N.Y. / Penn Yan Academy) finished with 10.

Penn St.-Harrisburg 63 vs. Keuka College 58

Both teams struggled with possession and shooting early. Sydney Bloom opened the scoring for either team with a three pointer two minutes in. Keuka used a 6-0 run to create separation and led 14-7 after the first.

The Nittany Lions used the long ball in the second, hitting three threes in the frame. Penn St.-Harrisburg took a 24-22 lead over Keuka, but the Wolves quickly tied it with a baseline layup by Kaitlin Snipas (Mountain Top, Pa. / Crestwood). Meaghan McGwin made a put-back layup with a minute left as the Wolves carried a 26-24 lead into halftime.

The Wolves scored the first four of the second half to extend the lead to six. Penn St.-Harrisburg snapped the run and later took a 31-30 lead on a three-pointer with seven minutes left in the frame. The Nittany Lions went up three, but Riley Record had a personal 5-0 run to give the lead back to the Wolves. However, the Nittany Lions hit another three to take a one-point lead, 36-35. The advantage would continue to change hands in the third until Sydney Bloom hit a three with 2:44 left to make it 40-38. Record was later fouled shooting a three. The junior converted all three attempts from the line as the Wolves led by five, 43-38, going into the final quarter.

Harrisburg quickly made that lead evaporate with a layup and three in the opening minutes. Penn St.-Harrisburg later went up three, but Riley Record tied it with another three-pointer. But the Nittany Lions had a response for every Keuka bucket. The hosts scored five straight to take the lead and they would not look back. The Wolves cut it to three with 1:10 left but it would be as close as Keuka could get it as the Wolves fell on the road 63-58 on Saturday.

• Saturday was the first time the two teams have met since Penn St.-Harrisburg was last in the North Eastern Athletic Conference in 2012-13
• The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Keuka against Harrisburg. The Wolves lead the all-time series 13-2
• The Wolves shot better from the floor and from three-point range, percentage wise, but the Nittany Lions were +13 points in three point and free throw shooting

Up Next for Keuka College: Keuka College will play their final North Division game on Tuesday, and it holds a lot on the line. The Wolves continue to fight for the third and final playoff spot in the division. Keuka College will travel to Morrisville State on Tuesday. The Mustangs hold the second spot in the NEAC North Division.
