#20 DePauw Tops Hiram for 18th Win

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored the final five points of the third quarter and the first eight of the fourth and pulled away from visiting Hiram for a 69-52 North Coast Athletic Conference win. The 20th-ranked Tigers improved to 18-4 overall and 12-1 in the NCAC, while the Terriers dropped to 9-13 overall and 3-10 in conference play.

Hiram grabbed an early 9-4 lead, but DePauw scored eight of the next 11 for a 17-11 lead on the way to a 19-14 lead after one quarter. After the Terriers closed to within two, the Tigers expanded the lead to nine and led 32-25 at the intermission.

DePauw pushed the margin to 13 at 46-33 before Hiram was back within seven at 48-41 with two minutes remaining in the third. Maeve Summerville scored the Tigers' next five points as DePauw led 53-41 as the teams headed to the fourth.

The Tigers scored the first eight of the final stanza to push the lead to 61-41 and Hiram got no closer than 17 the rest of the way.

Maya Howard led DePauw with 17 points followed by Sydney Kopp with 14 and Claire Keefe with 10. Campbell Montgomery grabbed a career-high nine rebounds as the Tigers held a 44-25 edge on the boards and a 14-0 edge in second-chance points. Tashauna Wright led Hiram with 17 points and five assists with Madison Branch adding 10 points.

DePauw shot 42.2 percent from the field to Hiram's 38.2 and the Tigers committed eight turnovers to the Terriers' seven.

DePauw travels to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, February 9, for a 1 p.m. NCAC contest.
