#20 DePauw Tops Allegheny

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw shot 56.1 percent from the field and knocked in 11 of 19 3-pointers on the way to a 93-56 North Coast Athletic Conference win over visiting Allegheny. The 20th-ranked Tigers improved to 17-4 overall and 11-1 in the NCAC, while the Gators dropped to 6-14 overall and 2-9 in conference play.

DePauw jumped out to an early 10-2 lead and finished the opening quarter on a 13-4 run to take a 27-10 lead. The Tigers led by as many as 20 on two occasions in the second quarter before heading to the intermission with a 46-30 advantage. 

Allegheny closed to within 11 at 51-40 with 6:58 remaining in the third, but DePauw put together a 17-2 stretch to extend the lead 68-42. In the fourth, the Gators were back within 19 before DePauw wrapped up the contest on a 22-4 run.

Maya Howard led five DePauw double-figure scorers with 19 points and handed out a game-high seven assists, while Sydney Kopp added 15 and Mya Shannon 13. Claire Keefe added 11 and Maeve Summerville matched a career high with 10. Julianna Skowron paced Allegheny with 15 and Zoe Soilis finished with 12. Campbell Montgomery grabbed six rebounds for the Tigers who held a 33-26 edge on the boards. Skowron hualed down seven for the Gators.

DePauw shot 56.1 percent for the game to Allegheny's 39.6 percent and the Tigers committed 10 turnovers to the Gators' 24.

The Tigers return to action tomorrow with a 3 p.m. contest against Hiram.
