KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team had four players score in double figures as the Wolves defeated Elmira College 73-56 in a non-conference game on Monday night at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Keuka College (7-3) was led by Lauren Anten (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) with 14 points. Sam Laranjo (Averill Park, N.Y. / Averill Park) scored 12 points and both Jariah Johnson (New York, N.Y. / Frederick Douglas Academy) and Riley Record (Palmyra, N.Y. / Palmyra-Macedon) each contributed 11 points.

Keuka College 73 vs. Elmira College 56

The first half was played closely with four lead changes and the game tied four times, totaling nearly five minutes in the quarter. Keuka College pulled ahead and led 15-12 after the first quarter.

The lead for the Wolves would last the rest of the game. Keuka used a five-point run midway through the second to extend their lead and led by double-digits following a layup by Anna Hoover (Cape Vincent, N.Y. / Thousand Islands) with four minutes left in the half. In total, the Wolves outscored the Soaring Eagles 17-9 in the second and led 32-21 at the half.

The Green and Gold came out firing in the second half. Keuka College opened the frame on a 7-0 run over the first two minutes, extending their lead to 39-21. Elmira responded, scoring nine straight to draw the margin back to single-digits, but Jariah Johnson got to the free throw line and snapped the run with a pair of free throws. Both teams would put up 22 points in the third as the Wolves took a 54-43 lead into the final quarter.

The Wolves played from ahead for the rest of the game. They shot over 43 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the free throw line to ice the 73-56 victory.

• The Wolves snapped an 11-game losing streak to Elmira College, defeating the Soaring Eagles for the first time since the 1994-95 season
• Elmira still leads the all-time series with Keuka 18-16
• On the night where she was honored for joining the 1,000 Point Club, Lauren Anten passed Mariah Mouzon for tenth on the career scoring list
• Brianna Legacy (Bennington, Vt. / Mount Anthony Union) scored nine for the Wolves, setting a new career-high for points in a season
• Keuka College was +13 in rebounding against Elmira, 43-33. The Wolves were led by Jariah Johnson with eight rebounds. Brianna Legacy and Abby Hess (Cortland, N.Y. / Cortland) each added seven rebounds for the Wolves

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves return to North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Wednesday in a rematch of the 2018 NEAC Championship Game. Keuka College will welcome SUNY Poly to David M. Sweet Court for a 6pm game. The Wildcats won both regular season meetings last year, but the Wolves won the championship 72-60 last season.
