#21 DePauw Moves to 6-0 in NCAC Play with Win at Wooster

Wooster, Ohio - DePauw outscored Wooster 24-8 in the second quarter to break free from the Fighting Scots on the way to a 76-49 North Coast Athletic Conference win. The Tigers, ranked 21st in the latest D3hoops.com poll and 22nd in the coaches' rankings, improved to 12-3 overall and 6-0 in NCAC play while Wooster dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play.

The teams were tied, 16-16, through the first quarter before Sydney Kopp started the second with a 3-pointer and Natalie Kehrt followed with a layup to give DePauw a 21-16 lead. Wooster was back within one at 23-22, but the Tigers scored the next 15 points including 11 by Maya Howard to grab a 38-22 advantage. DePauw took a 40-24 lead into the intermission and Wooster was no closer than 15 the rest of the way.

Howard led DePauw with 21 points and four assists, while Kopp added a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Mya Shannon finished with 13 points.

Sarah Rapacz paced Wooster with 15 points and Maria Janasko added 10. Janasko, Aubri McKoy and A'Janay Nicholson each hauled down four rebounds.

DePauw shot 43.3 percent from the floor to Wooster's 30.6 percen and the Tigers held a 53-29 edge on the boards.

The Tigers return to NCAC play on Wednesday, January 9, with an 8 p.m. game at Denison.
