The Hope College women's basketball team rebounded its way back into the win column.

The fifth-ranked Flying Dutch marched to a 96-30 victory at Kalamazoo College on Saturday behind 62 rebounds – their second-highest total of the season.

Twenty-four offensive rebounds led to a 22-4 edge in second-chance points.

The Flying Dutch (12-2 overall) bounced back from Wednesday's loss to Trine to remain tied for second place in the MIAA standings with a 4-1 league record.

Hope broke open the game in the first quarter. The Flying Dutch used an 18-4 run over the final seven minutes to seize a 25-11 lead.

"We needed to get back to doing things the way we do them on the defensive end and the offensive end, in particular, rebounding the basketball," head coach Brian Morehouse said. "We're missing enough shots, we may as well as go get the rebound. We did a much better job of that. We had 24 offensive rebounds. I thought that made a big difference."

Fifteen Hope players grabbed at least one rebound against Kalamazoo (0-13, 0-5 MIAA).

Senior forward Francesca Buchanan of Grant, Michigan (Sparta HS) and sophomore forward Olivia Voskuil shared team-high honors with seven rebounds.

Buchanan also netted a game-high 19 points. She was one of 15 players who scored for the Flying Dutch.
