PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College women's basketball team cruised to another early-season non-conference victory Saturday afternoon, Nov. 10, with a 65-37 win over the visiting Golden Eagles from St. Joseph's College (Long Island). The two squads will soon be conference foes, as the Valiants officially rejoin the Skyline Conference in 2019-20.

Manhattanville (2-0) was led by a balanced attack, with sophomore Sarah Coutu and senior Kayleagh McGuire leading the way. Coutu totaled 17 points, a game-high five assists, four steals and four rebounds, while McGuire dropped in a game-best 18 points on 6-of-7 from the floor, adding six rebounds and a game-high six steals.

Rookie Ali Mikaele and sophomore Amanda Pemberton each chipped in eight points, while Mikaele led all players with a game-high nine boards in just the second game of her collegiate career.

Manhattanville controlled the pace of play from the beginning, starting the game on a 13-0 run and never looked back. The Valiants led by as many as 30 points with 00:11 left in the second quarter. As a team, the home squad consistently turned defense into offense, getting more than half their points (36) off turnovers. They were also running hard all day and turned that into 20 fast break points. Many of those fast breaks were the result of stifling defense and Manhattanville finished with 20 steals as a team.

Notable Highlights:
- Rookie Faith Dasilva-Johnson registered six points, three steals, three assists and three boards.
- Sophomore Spencer Shore notched four steals as well, while adding a pair of rebounds and assists.
- The Valiants did the majority of their work under the basket, finishing with 50 points in the paint.

Manhattanville returns to action this Wednesday night, Nov. 14, when York College (N.Y.) comes to Purchase. Tip-off at Kennedy Gymnasium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
