Hoboken, N.J. – Junior Peace Kabari (Manchester, N.H.) notched 13 points, game-highs of 15 rebounds and six assists, and three steals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 73-64 victory over the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks in women's basketball action this afternoon at Canavan Arena.  Trinity improves to 5-0, while Stevens falls to 5-2.  Trinity hosts Coast Guard on Monday at 7 p.m. in its next game, and the Ducks entertain Ithaca next Saturday at 1 p.m.

Trinity senior co-captain forward Erin Cunningham (Wilton, Conn.) opened the game with a three-pointer, and the Bantams maintained their lead for the rest of the game.  Trinity led, 19-13, after one quarter, using a 6-0 run to turn a 13-11 advantage into a 19-11 lead on a jumper by rookie guard Bailey Hyland (Broad Brook, Conn.) before first-year Jess Broad hit a jumper for Stevens in the final minute.

A steal and layup by sophomore guard Allie Morin (Westwood, Mass.) put Trinity ahead by double digits at 26-15 wth 7:49 left in the first half, but Broad scored the last six points of the second quarter to make the score, 33-30, in the visitors' favor at the half.  Broad had 14 points at intermission, Kabari had 10 and Cunningham and senior center Courtney Erickson (Everett, Mass.) added six point apiece for Trinity.  Kabari also had seven rebounds at the break, as the Bantams held a 23-to-14 edge on the glass.

Cunningham drilled another try nine seconds into the second half to put Trinity ahead by six, but a free throw by Lily Taueber pulled the Ducks within a point at 38-37 with 6:27 on the clock in the third quarter.  Trinity led, 48-46, after the third stanza but senior guard Becky Reifler (Garden City, N.Y.) began the fourth quarter with a long ball, and capped off a 6-0 run moments later with a steal and a layup to put the Bantams ahead, 59-50, with just under seven minutes left to play.  Trinity led by at least five points the rest of the way, while Cunningham, Erickson and junior guard Meghan Lewis (Demarest, N.J.) combined to go 7-for-8 from the foul line down the stretch.

Erickson paced Trinity in scoring with 15 points and added nine boards, while Cunningham scored 14 points, and Reifler added 10 points to give Trinity four double-digit scorers with Kabari.  Hyland collected seven points, six rebounds, and three steals off the Bantam bench.  Trinity outboarded the Ducks, 46-33.  Broad tallied a game-high 22 point, a team-high nine rebounds, and three blocks, while sophomore Christina Li added 10 points for Stevens.
