ARLINGTON, Va. – The No. 16 Marymount University women's basketball team bounced back in strong fashion on Tuesday night, defeating Shenandoah University, 56-31, at the Converse Family Fieldhouse.

The Saints came out firing, starting the game on a 16-0 run and outscoring the Hornets 18-4 in the first quarter.

Four different Saints scored in the opening minutes of the quarter, but junior Regan Lohr led the way with 12 points just in the first. She drained a long-range shot to push the lead to 13-0 and accounted for the Saints' final 10 points of the frame.

Marymount held its lead through the second quarter, as freshman Katie McShea knocked down a layup and two free throws, taking a 24-9 lead with 3:36 to go in the half. McShea added another free throw later in the quarter, helping the Saints take a 25-11 advantage into the break.

She got things going again in the second half, scoring a layup less than a minute into the third quarter. McShea finished the night with 13 points, good for second on the team, giving her double-digit scoring in four-of-five games this season.

Lohr led the way again in the quarter with five points, all coming on free throws, as the Saints built an 18-point lead going into the final frame.

The game was never in doubt from there, and Lohr capped her night with a three with 36 seconds left. She finished with 22 points on the night, her second 20-plus point game of the year, while adding three steals.

Senior Tyffani McQueen and junior Gabriella Haddad led the way with six rebounds, each, while McQueen tallied team highs with four steals and three assists.

Marymount will return to action after the Thanksgiving holiday, traveling to Hood College on Monday, November 26; the game is set for 6 p.m.
