William Paterson women’s Basketball Stumbles against Muhlenberg, 65-42

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (1-2) got a team-high 12 points from senior Alisa Giordano but fell to host Muhlenberg College (3-0), 65-42, in the finals of the Scotty Wood Tournament Nov. 17.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Midway through the second quarter, junior guard Kye Adams connected on a jumper that gave WP a 20-15 edge. Muhlenberg would respond by outscoring the Pioneers 15-2 in the final 6:37 of the half to take a 30-22 lead into the locker room. Following the break, the Mules controlled the game on both end of the court and coasted to the 65-42 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Giordano paced the offense with 12 tallies, while sophomore guard Brianna Brooks poured in nine points on 4-of-6 (.666) shooting from the field. Defensively, CeCe Green pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
  • William Paterson committed 25 miscues on the evening, resulting in 27 Muhlenberg points.
  • Following the conclusion of the game, Giordano and classmate Julie Rovito were named to the all-tournament team.
