Melinda Spahiu had a double-double with 26 points, 12 rebounds and Samantha Genco scored a career-high 23 points to lead the Baruch College Bearcats to a 74-66 win on Monday night in the ARC Arena.

Outside of a free throw in the opening minute, the Bearcats never trailed the rest of the contest in what was a highly-entertaining affair against the Maccabees, who are located only a mere few blocks away on Lexington Avenue.

The Maccabees on numerous occasions cut the lead to as low as two points during the first half, but timely baskets by Spahiu and Genco kept the Bearcats ahead.

In the second half, the Bearcats shot 54.4% and limited the Maccabees to only 39.5%, which proved the biggest difference in the home win.

Valsenia Michie also had a double-double for the Bearcats with 11 points, 11 rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals.

Tehilla Teigman led the visitors from the Skyline Conference with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
