The Baruch College Bearcats defeated John Jay College, 75-57, in the CUNYAC regular season finale for both teams on Tuesday night.

The Bearcats will next play Lehman College in a CUNYAC 3 versus 6 playoff contest on Sunday afternoon at higher seeded Lehman. The exact time will be announced shortly.

The Bearcats stretched their win streak to a season-high three games behind Melinda Spahiu (24 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, 2 steals) and Shannon Barrett (22 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals). 

They fell behind early 4-0, but outscored the Bloodhounds 19-3 the rest of the opening period. They would lead by as much as 30 points in the third period.

In other team news, rookie Melinda Spahiu collected more weekly honors being named the CUNYAC and ECAC Rookie of the Week for her performances during February 5-11. She nearly recorded a rare triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists against Hunter in an exciting Battle of Lexington win this past Thursday.
