NEWTON, Mass. --  Sophomore Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (South Boston, Mass.) notched a double-double effort of 25 points, 12 rebounds, eight steals and six assists to lead four players in double figures as Emmanuel extended its winning streak to 13 straight with a 100-62 Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's basketball victory over Mount Ida Saturday afternoon at the Athletic Center.

The visiting Saints (17-6, 13-1 GNAC) jumped out to an 18-13 first quarter lead before shooting 55 percent (11-20) from the floor in the second stanza to take a 46-30 advantage at the break thanks to 25 combined points from Ramirez-Tejeda and senior Ryan Maynard (Bowie, Md.)  That margin remained intact before Emmanuel used a 13-0 run in a two minute stretch late in the third quarter to take a 29-point lead on senior Alisha Fox's (National Park, N.J.) lay-in with 1:09 to go in the frame, as the visitors continued their torrid shooting pace by connecting on 23-of-40 attempts (58 percent) in the final 20 minutes of action to post their triumph.

Fox added 19 points and three steals in the win for the Saints, who received 14 points and four boards from Maynard along with 11 points and three caroms from freshman Kendra Pannell (Bloomingrose, W. Va.).  Junior Maddie McLaughlin (Westerly, R.I.) collected nine points and five assists on the day for Emmanuel, which received eight points each and a combined nine rebounds from junior Mary McCarthy (Scituate, Mass.) and freshman Taylor Shubrick (Longmeadow, Mass.).  The visitors shot 53 percent (43-81) from the field overall and connected for six three-pointers for the contest, as the Saints recorded 27 assists and 21 steals while holding a 46-41 overall edge on the glass to complete a two-game regular season sweep between the schools.

Senior Jaime Moscato (Taunton, Mass.) scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out five steals in the setback for the host Mustangs (13-11, 6-9 GNAC), while senior Breanna Muir (Wareham, Mass.) added nine points and five caroms and established a new school career assists record (218) in the process.  Senior Imani Bumpus (Dedham, Mass.) chipped in with eight points and seven boards for Mount Ida, which received a combined 11 points from sophomore Taylor Churchill (Fort Fairfield, Maine) and freshman Melody Millett (Naples, Maine).  Sophomore Valerie Martin grabbed seven rebounds in the setback for the hosts, who shot 32 percent (19-60) overall and held a 21-8 scoring advantage at the foul line on the afternoon, but the Mustangs hurt themselves with 26 turnovers that were converted into 38 Emmanuel points.

Mount Ida will be idle until next Saturday afternoon when the Mustangs entertain Lasell in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference clash at the Athletic Center that tips-off at 1:00 p.m., while Emmanuel heads to Weston, Mass. on Tuesday evening to square off with Regis in a GNAC outing beginning at 7:00 p.m.
