DUDLEY, Mass. -- Jocelyn Chaput established a career-high with 22 points as the University of New England cruised to a 65-36 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over Nichols College on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 3) at the NC Athletic Center.

For the second time in three days, the Nor'easters (16-5, 12-2 CCC) topped the Bison (3-18, 1-13 CCC) to make it 19 straight in the series between the teams. Thursday's contest was higher-scoring (85-57), but with nearly an identical spread (1 less).

Chaput went 9-of-15 from the floor, including three treys, to be the game's leading scorer. Ashley Coneys chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds, and Olivia Shaw totaled nine points, 11 boards, and four steals. Madalyn Sanborn added seven points.

The UNE defense held Nichols to 31 percent shooting in the match, and forced 24 turnovers.

The hosts got 11 and nine points, respectively, from Beth Laing and Brooke Packard. Shannon St. Lawrence grabbed 10 caroms, although her side was out-rebounded by nine (43-34).

After a slow start for both squads, the Nor'easters posted 10 unanswered points in three minutes to go up 13-4 late in the 1st quarter. A 12-0 spurt in the middle of the 2nd pushed the cushion north of 20 (37-13), where it stayed for the remainder of the game.
