PURCHASE, NY – Freshman Sarah Coutu (Cranston, R.I./Cranston East) finished with a game-high 22 points and junior Kayleah McGuire (Somers, N.Y./Somers) added 20 more on a combined 14-for-19 from the field for the Manhattanville College women's basketball team Monday night in an 88-52 win over the Keystone Giants in the final non-conference game of the regular season.

Manhatanville (15-3) tied a season-high with six three-pointers and shot a season-best 83.3 percent from the foul line, making 20 of their 24 attempts.

The Valiants conceded the first two points of the evening, but responded with an 11-0 run over two and a half minutes. After Keystone (3-15) closed the gap to 11-5, Manhattanville again responded with 13 of the next 16 points for a 24-8 lead; the Giants closed the gap to 24-12 by the end of the opening quarter.

Manhattanville maintained the offensive intensity in the second quarter, with Coutu and McGuire both reaching double figures before the end of the half; the Valiants doubled their lead from the end of the first quarter, taking a 46-22 edge to the locker room.

The Valiant bench stepped up in the second half as freshman Meleah Morgan (El Paso, Texas/Andress) scored all eight of her points over the final 20 minutes, while classmate Jykayla Elting (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) scored five of her seven points as Manhattanville steadily increased their lead.

Nina Hodanich had 15 points for Keystone while Samy Farah and Maddy Moro added eight points apiece. Manhattanville returns to MAC Freedom action Wednesday night on the road at DeSales, whom the Valiants beat earlier this season for the first time since 2012.
