PROCIAK EARNS FIRST CAREER CONFERENCE WEEKLY AWARD

ANNVILLE, PA --- King's College sophomore Rebecca Prociak was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom women's basketball "Player of the Week" the conference office announced on Monday.

Prociak earns her first career conference weekly award after leading King's to a huge 2-0 week that moved the Lady Monarchs to the top of the conference standings. She nearly averaged a double-double with 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while adding 3.5 assists. The sophomore began the week with her seventh double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds as King's defeated DeSales 55-50. The forward also dished out three assists to help the Monarchs pick up the program's first victory over DeSales since February 20, 2013. She finished the week with a career-high  20 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks to lead King's to a 65-62 overtime victory at conference-leading Manhattanville. Prociak went to the line with King's down by 1 and made the back end of two free throw attempts with 0.1 left in regulation to send the game into overtime. She then scored five of the King's 12 points in the extra session. The victory over Manhattanville completed the season sweep of the Valiants who have only lost three times this season and have only lost to the Monarchs in conference play. King's also handed the Valiants their first loss in Kennedy Gymnasium where Manhattanville have previously beaten DeSales and more recently FDU-Florham earlier in the week.

The Lady Monarchs will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel down to Doylestown to face Delaware Valley University at 6:00 p.m. in James Work Gymnasium.
