LANSDOWNE, Pa.—Senior guard Nina Hodanich scored 18 points and sophomore center Maddy Moro added 13 points and 23 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to keep Keystone College from dropping a 66-56 decision to Cairn University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Saturday afternoon.

The Giants, now 3-12 overall and 2-6 in league play, trailed by only seven at intermission, 35-28, before the Highlanders opened up a double-digit lead late in the third quarter.  Keystone did manage to cut the margin to six, 58-52, on a 3-pointer by Hodanich with 4:39 remaining, but Cairn ended the game with an 8-4 run.

Junior guard Payton Emerick led the Highlanders with 13 points, freshman guard Jenna Krage added 12 points off the bench, and junior guard Kendra Stum finished with 10 points as Cairn improved to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in the CSAC.

Moro's 'double double' was her third of the season.  In addition, her 23-rebound effort is tied for the eighth-most in a game in Keystone history and it was the most rebounds by a Giant since Nicole Zapolski pulled down 24 against Gloucester in 2003.  Hodanich's 18-point effort was one shy of tying her season-high effort of 19 against Marywood on January 9, along with being her fourth double-figure scoring output of the season.

The Giants overcame an 18-for-63 shooting effort from the field (28.6 percent) by knocking down 14 of 18 free throw attempts (77.8 percent).  Keystone also received 11 points from freshman forward Samy Farah.

Keystone will close out a two-game CSAC road trip this Monday, January 20, by taking on Gwynedd-Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, Pa., beginning at 7:00 p.m.
