LANCASTER, Pa. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball nearly completed a 12-point comeback, but fell short as they lost on the road at Lancaster Bible College 62-58 on Sunday.

Reighly Melochick (Minersville, Pa. / Minersville Area) led the Green and Gold with 17 points in the game. The junior was 5-7 from three-point territory in the game. Joining her in double-digits was fellow junior Lauren Anten (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) who finished with 15 points in the loss.

Lancaster Bible College 62 vs. Keuka College 58

Lancaster Bible College jumped out to an early 8-0 lead over Keuka College. The Wolves got on the board with a layup by Lauren Anten with 7:03 left in the quarter. The Chargers would remain ahead 15-8 after the opening quarter.

The Wolves would cut into the margin, shrinking it down to one point, 17-16, two minutes into the second. However, Lancaster Bible scored a quick five to widen the gap. The Chargers pushed the lead to double digits, 31-20, but Abby Hess (Cortland, N.Y. / Cortland) made a layup at the buzzer. The margin was nine points, 31-22, in favor of Lancaster Bible College at halftime.

Once again, Keuka cut the margin down to one possession, but Lancaster Bible went on a 10-0 run to take a 12-point lead, 46-34. It would be the widest margin of the contest. The Chargers led 50-39 going into the final quarter.

Both teams struggled early in the fourth as a Keuka College layup was the lone scoring of the first two minutes of the fourth quarter. That did spark a 6-0 run for the Wolves as the fought to stay in the game. In the final minutes, the Green and Gold scored seven straight to make it a two-point game, 57-55, with two minutes left to play. Down by five in the final minute, Reighly Melochick hit a three to make it 60-58. The Wolves fouled but the Chargers made both free throws as Lancaster Bible College defeated Keuka College 62-58 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.

• The Wolves has never defeated Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania. They are now 0-6 on the Chargers' home court and 2-7 overall
• Free throws were key in the meeting on Sunday. Lancaster Bible College went 22-26 from the line with Keuka College went 5-6
• Keuka College was +6 in rebounding against Lancaster Bible. The Chargers entered the game with the best rebounding margin in conference games in the NEAC
• The Wolves had a season-low nine turnovers on Sunday. It was the first time since November 2015 that Keuka has had less than 10 turnovers in a game

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will step out of conference lay to travel to SUNY Cortland on Wednesday. Keuka College is 5-4 all-time against the Red Dragons, but the two teams have not met since the 2007-08 season. The series started in the 1986-87 season and includes a Keuka College victory over SUNY Cortland in the 1990 ECAC Tournament.
