Leonard, Anderson Lead Oxy Past St. Katherine

LOS ANGELESTriana Anderson and Emily Leonard had big games as the Occidental women's basketball team cruised past St. Katherine 96-45 at Rush Gymnasium on Sunday.

Anderson posted a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and shot 6 for 13 from the field.

Leonard had 10 points and seven rebounds, including four at the offensive end of the floor.

They weren't the only two Tigers in double figures.

Chelsea Brooks and Kendahl Wallis-Lang each had 10 points off the bench. Kaleinani Nallira had nine points, and Taylor Yoshida, Alyssa Ramlochan and Tala Ismail chipped in eight. 

The Tigers had a total of 50 bench points, assisted on 26 of their field goals and held St. Katherine to 24 percent shooting from the field.

Briana Lampkin led St. Katherine and the game with 19 points.

Season Impact: The Tigers improve to 5-2 overall.

Next Game: Oxy plays one more game against Pacific (Ore.) on Tuesday at noon before taking its winter holiday break.

The Tigers travel to compete in the D3hoops.com Classic against Hamline and Wisc.-Stout on Dec. 29-30. Oxy returns to SCIAC play against La Verne at Life Pacific in San Dimas on Jan. 1 at 7 p.m.
