SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College junior women's basketball player Amy Assad has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Assad helped lead the Bison to a 2-1 mark in games played last week, including their first CCC win of the season.
 
The junior averaged 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game over the three games played. In a non-conference 78-44 win over Anna Maria, Assad scored 12 points and pulled in five rebounds to go with three assists and two steals in only 16 minutes of action. She followed that up with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 66-54 setback to Endicott before wrapping up the week with her second-straight double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds in a 59-51 win over Gordon.
 
Amy Assad and the Nichols women's basketball team return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 5 with a 5:30 p.m. CCC matchup at Roger Williams University.
