NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Albion College was really good once it settled in Saturday night.

Going on the road to play against a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival for the first time this season, Albion scored on one of its first four possessions in falling behind Saint Mary's College by 10 points.

Albion recovered, scoring on four of its next five times with the ball, to hold a two point lead at the end of the first quarter, and it outscored Saint Mary's 32-10 in the second in cruising to an 86-58 victory.

Albion, 5-0, overall, will concentrate on fall semester final examinations through Thursday and return to the court next Saturday for a 3 o'clock game against the nationally-ranked squad from Hope College.

Evelyn Wischmeyer scored eight points in the second quarter, hitting 4-of-6 shots from the field. She finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for her second career double-double.

Emily Bernas led the Britons with 18 points, while Maija Gillum chipped in with 17 off the bench.

Giavanna Paradiso was the only Saint Mary's player to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points.
