KEENE, N.H.—Sophomore Emily Bonifacic (Allendale, N.J.) scored the go-ahead hoop with 1:09 remaining to lift Babson College to a 60-59 victory over Framingham State University in the championship game of the Keene State College Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Spaulding Gymnasium.

With the win, Babson improves to 2-0 on the year, while Framingham State falls to 1-2.

Senior Brenna LeGacy (Attleboro, Mass.), who was selected as the tournament's most valuable player, scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting and first-year Nicole Hiller (Rocky Hill, Conn.) came off the bench to score 11 points for the Beavers. Junior Bianca Tomassini (North Branford, Conn.) added nine points and three steals in the win.

Senior Raegan Mulherin (Baldwinville, Mass.) scored 15 points and sophomore Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) finished with 12 points, six rebounds and two assists for the Rams. Junior Tiphani Harris (Revere, Mass.) led all players with 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

The Green and White took its biggest lead of the opening half at 15-10 on a layup by Tomassini just over a minute into the second quarter. Framingham State rallied to take a 33-30 lead at the break and pushed its advantage to as many as nine at 44-35 on a three-pointer by senior Lauren Donahue (Attleboro, Mass.) 3:24 into the third quarter.

The Beavers responded with a 15-4 run and went back in front 50-49 on a triple by first-year Katie Jones (Ridgewood, N.J.) with 14 seconds left in the stanza. The Rams answered back getting used consecutive hoops by O'Day and Mulherin to build a 59-56 lead with 3:43 to go in the fourth. Bonifacic pulled Babson within one a minute later and then converted a layup following an offensive rebound by junior Tea Spellacy (Belchertown, Mass.) to put the Green and White in front for good with 66 seconds remaining.

Babson followed Bonifacic's hoop with back-to-back stops to seal the win.

The Beavers shot 37.7 percent from the floor and turned 20 Framingham State turnovers into 21 points. The Green and White also held a 28-22 edge in paint scoring.

Babson returns to action next Sunday when it hosts Connecticut College at 1 p.m., while Framingham State travels to Lasell on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

• Babson has won nine consecutive games going back to last January when scoring at least 60 points.
