Stevenson's Tarbert Picks Up MAC Commonwealth Weekly Award for Seventh Time

ANNVILLE, Pa. – For the third straight week and seventh time this season, Stevenson University senior Sara Tarbert has been named the MAC Commonwealth women's basketball Player of the Week.  The announcement was made Monday afternoon.

In a 1-1 week for Stevenson (14-8, 9-4 MAC Commonwealth), Tarbert averaged 20.5 points, 15.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocked shots and 2.5 steals per game.  She posted two more double-doubles to run her streak of consecutive double-doubles to 23, tied for the third-longest streak in NCAA Division III history.  Tarbert totaled 14 points and 19 rebounds in a setback to No. 22 Messiah on Wednesday, then scored 27 points, including the 2,000th of her collegiate career, and grabbed 11 rebounds in a win over Widener.  Tarbert becomes the 19th player in Division III history with 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.

Tarbert ranks sixth nationally in scoring (23.5 ppg) and ninth nationally in rebounding (13.0 rpg) while her 22 double-doubles lead the country.  She also ranks third nationally in minutes played.

Stevenson returns to action Wednesday night when it travels to Hood College for a 6:00 MAC Commonwealth contest.
