GALLOWAY, N.J. – William Paterson (13-7, 8-5 NJAC) extended its win streak to five games with a 75-68 overtime women's basketball victory at Stockton (13-6, 8-4 NJAC) Jan. 25.

Four Pioneers scored in double figures, led by a game-high 23 points from freshman guard Gabby Harris (South River, N.J./South River). Junior forward Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) added seven rebounds to her career-best 17 tallies, and senior guard Nikole Williams (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) matched her career highs with 15 points and seven boards. Sophomore guard Julie Rovito (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) contributed 11 tallies, four assists, five steals and three blocked shots.

The Pioneers owned a 63-58 lead with 3:13 remaining in the fourth quarter, but seven straight Osprey points, the last a three-point play, handed Stockton a 65-63 edge with 58 seconds on the clock. Woetzel knocked down a jumper from the free-throw line with seven seconds remaining to force the extra session.

Layups by Woetzel and Williams made it a 69-65 WP advantage at the 2:03 mark of the overtime period, but a Mikila Stefanski three-pointer during the next possession pulled the Ospreys to within one (69-68, 1:41). Williams hit a jumper in the paint and Harris converted a fast-break to push WP ahead, 73-68 with 24 seconds left, and a Rovito steal led to a foul and two made free throws by Harris (75-68, 0:19).

After building a 36-29 halftime advantage, the Pioneers led by as many as 13 (46-33, 5:47) during the third quarter before the Ospreys tightened the margin to three (52-49) to enter the fourth.

Junior forward Sasha Williams led Stockton with 21 points, 15 rebounds, six steals and six blocked shots. Junior forward Najha Treadwell also had a double-double with 12 tallies and 10 boards.

William Paterson will return home to face No. 18/18 Montclair State Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 6:00 p.m. The Pioneers will honor their female student-athletes at halftime as part of their National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration.
