BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost on the road on Saturday at Bryn Athyn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game by the score of 65-59.

Keuka College (5-7, 3-5 NEAC) remains in Pennsylvania on Sunday as they face the Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Abington.

The Wolves were led by a new career-high by Sam Laranjo (Averill Park, N.Y. / Averill Park). The freshman scored 16 points in the game. She also added five assists, four rebounds, and four steals. Joining her in double figures was Lauren Anten (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton). Anten finished with 13 points and added a team-high nine rebounds.

Both teams struggled to shoot from the floor to open the game on Saturday. Keuka and Bryn Athyn went a combined 3-36 from the floor, including 2-11 from three in the opening quarter. The difference in the quarter was an additional free throw by the Lions as Bryn Athyn led 9-8 after 10 minutes.

A quick exchange of baskets in the second quarter sparked the scoring. Within a minute span, Lauren Anten made a pair of baskets and Courtney Boyea (Chateaugay, N.Y. / Chateaugay) drained a three pointer, assisted by Anten. Bryn Athyn had an answer for every basket, however, as they maintained the lead. Halfway through the second, it was still a one-point game, but the Lions closed on a 12-2 run to lead 30-19 at the halftime break.

Keuka College shot 50% from the floor and made their only three pointer in the third quarter as they attempted to cut into the Bryn Athyn lead. The Lions shot just as well, going 58% from the floor as the outscored Keuka College 20-17 in third and carried a 50-36 lead into the final quarter.

The Wolves increased the pressure in an attempt to mount a comeback on Saturday. Following a three by Sam Laranjo, Lauren Anten stole the ball and converted the quick layup. One the next possession, Anten stole it again and Niki Templeton (Livonia, N.Y. / Livonia) made the layup as the Wolves went on a quick 7-0 run. That spurt narrowed the margin to seven points halfway through the fourth, but it would be as close as Keuka would make it until the final horn. They would lose to Bryn Athyn College on Saturday 65-59.
