#17 DePauw Makes it 13 Straight with 66-41 Win over Oberlin

Greencastle, Ind. - A 15-0 first-half run was key for 17th-ranked DePauw as the Tigers rolled a 66-41 North Coast Athletic Conference win over Oberlin

The Tigers improved to 16-1 overall and 8-0 in the NCAC with its 13th straight win, while the Yeowomen dropped to 4-11 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Oberlin hit four of its first five shots to grab an 8-4 lead just 3:19 into the contest before Sydney Kopp and Claire Ryan nailed consecutive threes to give the Tigers a 10-8 lead.

The Tigers held a 13-11 advantage after Oberlin's Alex Stipano hit a jumper with 1:27 left in the opening quarter, but Maya Howard and Claire Ryan hit buckets before Ryan ended the period with a three to give the Tigers a 20-11 lead.

The Tigers scored eight straight in the second to cap a 15-0 run and held Oberlin without a score until 3:11 remained in the half. DePauw went to the intermission with a 33-16 lead.

The Yeowomen were within 13 at 37-24 midway through the third before the Tigers put the game away with eight straight. Maya Howard started the run with a three-point play and Blair Carlin ended it with a three-pointer and jumper to make it 45-24.

Carlin finished with career highs of 16 points and six rebounds, while Ryan added 12 and Maya Howard 11. Taylor Howard and Melinda Franke each grabbed seven rebounds as DePauw held a 45-31 edge on the boards and a 22-5 lead in second-chance points.

Stipano paced Oberlin with 15 points, while Abby Andrews grabbed six rebounds.

DePauw shot 37.3 percent from the field to Oberlin's 32.0 percent and the Tigers nailed 7-of-19 from beyond the arch to the Yeowomen's 1-of-12.

The Tigers travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, January 21, for a 1 p.m. game.
