CARLISLE, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's basketball team rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to tie Dickinson College midway through the final quarter, but the host Red Devils picked up some timely buckets in the final minutes to hold off the Bullets 65-61 and maintain the lead in the  Centennial Conference standings.

Gettysburg (3-3, 2-2 CC) was led by sophomore Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) and junior Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School). Dorshimer tied the program record with her sixth consecutive 20-point outing with a team-high 21. Gibbons notched her fourth-straight double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Helen Roberts led Dickinson (7-1, 4-0 CC) with 22 points, while Mary Martin and Hannah Heiring tallied 16 and 14 points, respectively. Kassidy Lesher grabbed 17 rebounds.

Gettysburg led in the opening minutes, but the advantage didn't last long. The Red Devils turned in a 16-3 run spanning the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second to take a 22-9 lead. Dickinson took a 29-13 lead on a free throw by Roberts with 6:31 left in the second period.

The Bullets trailed 34-22 at halftime, but the visitors stormed back in the third quarter, netting nine of the first 12 points to pull within six (37-31). After Dickinson regained a double-figure lead, a pair of threes by freshmen Ashley Gehrin (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) and Emma Hahner (Forest Hill, Md./C. Milton Wright) flanked a lay-up by Gibbons to slice the deficit to 41-39 with 3:15 in the third quarter. Dickinson took a 48-43 lead into the final period.

Gettysburg pulled to 51-50 on a lay-up by Hahner, but Roberts knocked down a contested three to regain a four-point lead for Dickinson. The Bullets tied the game 54-54 on free throws by Dorshimer and a runner in the lane by Gibbons.

The deadlock lasted just 28 seconds as Martin tossed up a shot in front of the basket. Gettysburg came up empty on its next two possessions to open the door for Roberts to knock down a three-pointer from the wing to make it 59-54 with 3:50 left.

The Bullets cut the lead down to two points twice, but each time the Red Devils answered. With her team down 62-59, Dorshimer was fouled on a three-point attempt with eight seconds left. After canning the first, the sophomore's second shot rimmed out. The third attempt went through to pull Gettysburg within one at 62-61.

Roberts went to the line and knocked down her second attempt for Dickinson with five seconds left. Gettysburg's ensuing in-bounds toss was stolen and Heiring polished off the win with two more free throws.
