BOSTON -- Six players reached double figures as the University of New England rolled to a 95-42 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball season-opener on Wednesday evening (Nov. 30) at Tansey Gymnasium.

The result snaps a two-game skid for the Nor'easters (4-2, 1-0 CCC), who have taken the last 18 meetings with the Leopards (1-5, 0-1 CCC).

Jocelyn Chaput led UNE with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. Sam MacDonald hit three from downtown and finished with 15 points. Both Lindsey Howland and Sadie Nelson contributed 13 points; Howland also had seven rebounds, with game-highs of five assists and five steals. Kristie McNall added 12 points and Olivia Allrich tossed in 11 to go with 18 caroms.

Allrich's performance on the glass was the highest single-game total (by 3) since Beth Suggs '13 kicked off the 2012-13 season with 22 rebounds -- the fourth-best mark in program history. It was also three shy of UNE's rookie record in the category.

The Nor'easters dominated the boards to the tune of 54-24, which included 22 on the offensive end. Additionally, Big Blue turned 25 Wentworth turnovers into 29 points going the other direction.

WIT was paced by Haley Sabino's 11 points.

After the Leopards jumped out to a 7-2 start less than four minutes into the contest, UNE responded with 14 of the ensuing 15 to double-up the quarter (16-8) and take control. By halftime, the spread was 22 (41-19).

The Nor'easters return home to face Salve Regina University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
