Slow Start Hurts Bearcats in Loss to Elizabethtown

The women's basketball team lost 63-50 to the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown College on Sunday afternoon in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

The visiting Bearcats dug themselves into a hole early trailing 22-8 after the first quarter, but for the rest of the game the two teams played three evenly matched quarters.

The Blue Jays shot 35 percent (26-for-75) in their home win, while the Bearcats shot better at 45 percent (22-for-49).

Veronica Ganziled the team with 19 points. Jacqueline Kennedy(12pts, 9rbs, 4stls), Daniela Arias(10pts, 6rbs, 4asst, 3stls) and Shannon Barrett(9pts, 7rbs) all had a solid afternoon.

Emily Martin led the home team with a double-double of 24 points, 13 rebounds and five steals.

The Bearcats will next begin their CUNYAC schedule on Tuesday, November 29, with a 6 p.m. contest at York College in Jamaica, New York.
