The Baruch College Bearcats lost a high-scoring 91-84 contest to the Wildcats of St. Catherine University in the consolation game of the NYU Tip-Off Classic on Sunday afternoon at the Hunter College Sportsplex.
The final score was deceiving as the contest was tightly contested for most of the game.
The Bearcats led 60-59 late in the third quarter on a layup by Veronica Ganzi, but the visiting Wildcats from Minnesota outscored the Bearcats 31-19 the rest of the game to pull away for the neutral site victory.
Ganzi scored a career-high 35 points to become the 14th player in team history to reach the 1,000th point milestone.
Jacqueline Kennedy narrowly missed a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds.
Daniela Arias netted a career-high 15 points and four steals.
