Moss Sets PAC Record in No. 1 Saints' Win Over Saint Vincent

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Senior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) became the all-time leading scorer in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) women's basketball history and the No. 1 Thomas More College women's basketball team capped its third-straight undefeated regular season today (Saturday, February 20, 2016) as it defeated Saint Vincent College, 94-46, at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints end the regular season at 25-0 overall and 18-0 in the PAC.  Thomas More will be the No. 1 seed in next week's PAC Championship Tournament.  With the loss, the Bearcats end the regular season at 13-12 overall and 8-10 in the PAC.  Saint Vincent will be the No. 5 seed in the PAC Championship Tournament.

Moss made a three-pointer at the 3:03 mark of the first quarter for her 14th point of the game and 2,087th career point and break the PAC's previous mark of 2,086, which had stood since 1993 when Tricia Kosenina set the mark at Thiel College.

Thomas More led 28-8 lead after one quarter, 50-30 at halftime and 78-39 after three quarters before cruising to the 94-46 victory.

Thomas More had a 36-8 advantage in scoring in the paint, 29-7 off turnovers and 23-4 in second chance points.

Moss led all scorers with 30 points and increased her career total to 2,103 points.  She was joined in double-figures by sophomore guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) with 15 points and freshman guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) with 10 points.  Junior forward Samantha Cady (St. Anthony, Minn./St. Anthony Village) led the team on the boards with eight rebounds, while senior guard Olivia Huber (Woodlawn, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) led the team in assists with five and steals with three.

Thomas More will host the semifinals of the PAC Championship Tournament on Friday (February 26) at the Connor Convocation Center.  The PAC office will announce the tournament bracket and game times on the PAC website www.pacathletics.org later tonight.
