Franklin Continues Road Swing at Defiance on Saturday

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College women's basketball continues its three-game Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) road swing at Defiance College on Saturday, February 6, at 2 p.m. from Defiance, Ohio.

The Grizzlies seek to get back in the win column after a 54-41 road loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday. Franklin stands 13-7 on the season and is in fourth place in the HCAC with a 9-4 league record.

Franklin goes for the sweep of the two regular-season meetings after opening conference play with a 70-34 victory inside the Spurlock Center in December.

Senior Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) leads the team with 12.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. The forward has also recorded 43 blocks on the season.

Junior Lauren DeSutter (Pittsboro, Ind./Tri-West) is averaging 11.6 points per contest and is shooting 38.3 percent from behind the arc. She has also recorded a team-best 33 steals.

Junior Kayle Comer (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) has made a team-high 35 three-point field goal attempts. She rounds out the team's double-figure scoring attack at 10 points per outing.

Franklin is holding opposing teams to 56.2 points and 25.8 percent shooting on three-point field goal attempts for the season.
