Franklin Continues Homestand on Saturday against Earlham

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College women's basketball team concludes its weeklong home stand when it battles Earlham College on Saturday, January 30, at 4 p.m. in the Spurlock Center

Franklin started the homestand on a positive note with a 50-48 victory over Manchester University on Wednesday. The win improved the Grizzlies to 12-6 on the season and 8-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Franklin earned a 66-55 victory earlier this season against Earlham in mid-December.

Senior Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) leads the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game. The forward is second in the HCAC with 9.5 rebounds per game. The forward is also leading the conference with 39 blocked shots.

Junior Lauren DeSutter (Pittsboro, Ind./Tri-West) is averaging 11.8 points per game this season. She is making 40.4 percent of her three-point field goal attempts on the season, which is fifth in the conference.

Junior Kayle Comer (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) is averaging 9.9 points per contest and leads the team with 31 three-point field goals.

Earlham is scoring 68.1 points per game and features three players scoring more than 10 points per contest. Kasin Spay leads the team at 17.1 points per outing. Hannah Franklin is second on the team by averaging 11.7 points. Mariah Flynn rounds out the double-figure at 10.1 points.
