LYNDON, Vt. – The University of Maine at Farmington women's basketball team (10-7, 8-2) completed the season sweep of Lyndon State College (3-14, 2-9) with a 73-48 North Atlantic Conference win on Friday night at Stannard Gymnasium.

Cheyenne Malloy (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) scored a game-high 17 points for the Beavers on 6-of-9 shooting and 4-of-6 from long range. Malloy grabbed four rebounds, dished an assist, and recorded a steal. Meghan Smith (Boothbay, Maine/Boothbay Region) followed with 11 points and six rebounds. Smith knocked down 5-of-6 attempts from the line and had a pair of assists and steals. Kennadi Grover (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside) matched Smith with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting and recorded four rebounds.

Lyndon was led by a duo of starters who charted double figures. Aimee Thompson powered the offense with a team-high 13 points and six rebounds. Victoria Carlson added 10 points and Shelby Sheridan contributed nine points off the bench.

The Hornets held a 12-10 lead after the first ten minutes, but the Beavers found their offensive rhythm in the second and third quarters. UMF shot a combined 69.5% (16-of-23) over the two-quarter stretch and a perfect 10-for-10 in the third quarter alone. The Beavers scored 28 points in the third period, the most points scored by the team in a single quarter this season. When the final buzzer sounded. UMF outrebounded Lyndon, 50-39, and outscored the Hornets in the paint, 32-16.

UMaine-Farmington stays in the Green Mountain State with a trip to Johnson State on Saturday.
