TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology extended its women's basketball winning streak to nine games with a come-from-behind 65-61 victory at Transylvania University on Saturday afternoon.

Rose-Hulman trailed 31-17 late in the first half and bookended halftime with a 15-0 run to take its first lead and secure the 14th victory of the season.  The Engineers held Transylvania without a point for the final 1:46 of the first half and over four minutes to start the second half in the rally.

Junior Kristen Belyea led a balanced Rose-Hulman scoring attack with 12 points on 3-6 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line.  Freshman Brianna Gliesmann came off the bench to reach double figures with 10 points.

Other key contributors to the balanced offensive attack included freshman Chiarra Franklin with nine points; senior Cassidy Cain with eight points; junior Abbie Marshall with six points and three assists; and frshman Ally Bromenschenkel with six points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Transylvania featured a two-pronged scoring attack led by Katelyn Smith with 26 points and Shawn Kolani with 20 points.

Transylvania jumped out to a 16-9 lead after the first quarter and increased its lead to 14 points before the Fightin' Engineers made their 15-0 run.  Rose-Hulman reversed the score by more than 20 points in the final 22 minutes, gaining as high as a seven-point lead with 1:03 remaining.

Rose-Hulman secured its second consecutive winning season and moved into outright second place in the HCAC at 8-2 in league play with the win.  The Fightin' Engineers are 14-3 overall and 8-2 in league play, two games behind unbeaten league leader Bluffton.  Rose-Hulman returns to action on Wednesday with a road game at Hanover.
