FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington women's basketball team (8-6, 6-2) snapped a five-game winning streak on Friday night with a 54-45 North Atlantic Conference loss to New England College (10-6, 4-5) in Dearborn Gymnasium.

Meghan Smith (Boothbay, Maine/Boothbay Region) recorded her tenth double-double of the season with a game-high 17 points and 11 rebounds. Smith shot 7-of-14 from the floor and made three free throws. Kelly Pomerleau (Turner, Maine/St. Dominic Academy) had a solid outing with seven points, three rebounds, and one assist. Emma Duggan (Lancaster, Mass./Nashoba Regional) added six points for the Beavers and knocked down a pair from beyond the arc.
