The women's basketball team picked up another CUNYAC victory against the visiting Hawks of Hunter College, improving their conference record to 6-3 and 7-8 overall for the 2015-16 campaign.

In the opening period of play, Baruch and Hunter each operated at a high-pace as there was not a single foul committed.

The Bearcats' first six points came via of a pair of three-pointers, one apiece from Veronica Ganzi and Shannon Barrett.

Ganzi, who poured in a game-high 20 points, shot 57.1% from the field (8-for-14) and knocked down a trifecta of treys. Barrett turned in her best game as a Bearcat yet, contributing 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds for her first career double-double.

Hunter's Ashley Yu led the Hawks with 15 points. Her teammate, Ayanna Hudson, out-rebounded all participants by corralling 14.

Jacqueline Kennedy blocked six shots en route to picking up her 13th double-double in 15 games this season, posting 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Kristen Podlovits facilitated the Bearcats offense with nine assists, including multiple no-look passes that set up teammates near the basket for easy lay-ups. Lauren Smith achieved a season-high nine boards in the victory.

Despite a Baruch lead that was as large as 15 at the 3:30 mark of the 3rd quarter, Hunter did not go down without making a run of their own; the Hawks picked up momentum as they narrowed the deficit to ten points (49-39) before beginning the final period. The Bearcats, though, finished strong as they outscored the Hawks 21-8 in the fourth period.

The women's basketball team will return to action on Monday, January 25, with a 7:30 p.m. non-conference contest against Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
