Lightning Eclipse The Century Mark….Del Rosario Tallies Career High

Bronx, NY - For the first time all season the Lightning eclipsed the century mark as Lehman (11-6:6-2) routed John Jay (4-11:2-7)107-53.  The last time the Lightning scored 100 points was on January 18, 2014 against York College in a 101-71 victory over the Cardinals. 

With the game tied at four the Lightning went on a 12-0 run to start the onslaught.  In that spurt Amely Del Roasario netted five of her career high 39 points and Jennifer Navarro added seven of her 21 points.  Del Rosario also equaled her career assist mark with 11.  It was the first time all season that Del Rosario, the CUNYAC reigning Player of the Week came off the bench.  Karrin Walker recorded a double double scoring 21 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. 

The Lightning settled on a 10 point lead, 22-12, after the first only because of John Jay's Victoria Royal's jumper at the buzzer.  But the second quarter was all Lehman as the Lightning outscored the Bloodhounds 33-9 to take a 55-21 lead into the locker room. 

Lehman dominated outscoring John jay 62-36 in the paint and owned a 49-10 advantage in points off turnovers.  The fast break points and points off the bench were equally impressive. 

Victoria Royal paced the Bloodhounds with 17 points and 16 rebounds.  Karen Rosario added a team high 18 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Lightning return to action on Friday night at Medgar Evers College.
