Rams Fall as Sage Wins 12th Straight Game

Farmingdale, N.Y. - In a Skyline Conference women's basketball game this afternoon, Farmingdale State fell, 74-51, to first place Sage. The Rams now stand at 5-10 overall and 4-4 in the conference, while the Gators won their 12th straight game improving to 13-2 and a perfect 9-0 in Skyline play.

The Gators scored 12 straight points to open the game in the first 4:00 and held a 17-9 advantage after one quarter.

Farmingdale State used a 9-2 run to start the second quarter to cut the deficit to 19-18 with 6:04 left to play in the half.

With 4:58 remaining, a Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) layup pulled the Rams within two, 22-20, but Sage closed the quarter on a 21-0 run to take a 43-20 lead into halftime. Sage's Emily Parlsow (Fonda, N.Y.) scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, while the Gators connected on nine 3-pointers in the first half.

Over the first 2:38 of the third quarter, Sage outscored Farmingdale State 11-3 to open up their largest lead of the game at 54-23. The Rams closed within 19, 54-35, with 2:45 remaining in the third, but five points to end the quarter by the Gators brought the lead by to 24.

FSC could not cut the deficit to less than 20 points in the fourth quarter as they fell, 74-51.

The Rams were led by Harrison's game-high 26 points.

Junior forward Krystyn Knockwood (Troy, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds for Sage. The Gators had 22 assists on their 26 field goals in the victory.

Farmingdale State next will play host to #2 Amherst (14-0) on Tuesday, January 19th at 4:00 p.m.
