LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team tailed virtually the entire contest in a 54-41 home loss to Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.

Concordia Wisconsin scored the first nine points of the contest as Benedictine opened 0-for-7 from the field
The visitors held a 13-2 lead with 2:49 to play in the first and led 15-8 after one quarter
Alanna Ferry hit a jumper at the buzzer of the first quarter to open a 10-0 run for Benedictine that stretched into the second and handed Benedictine the lead
Briana Hamilton connected on a jumper with 5:02 to play in the first half, capping the run to give Benedictine a 16-15 advantage
Concordia Wisconsin responded with six straight points, the only points of the quarter, and led 21-18 at the break
Nicole Botich opened the third quarter with a basket, drawing Benedictine within 21-20, but Concordia Wisconsin went on to lead by 10 after three
Benedictine battled within five points at 41-36 with 3:47 to play but scored just five points the rest of the way, falling behind by as many as 14
Concordia Wisconsin made just two field goals in the fourth but scored 14 points

"We didn't rebound well today," head coach Charlie Averkamp said. "That only compounded the mistakes after falling behind early, although I was pleased with coming from behind in the second quarter."
