MILWAUKEE - Head Coach Klay Knueppel won his 224th career game to become the program's all-time winningest coach as the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team rolled to a 70-38 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win over Edgewood on Tuesday night at the Recreation Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Eagles grabbed a 7-5 lead midway through the opening quarter, but it would be their final lead of the contest.
• A 9-1 run by the Warriors gave them a lead they would never relinquish and Karisa Pedersen's (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) buzzer-beating three-pointer put WLC ahead 17-14 after the first quarter.
• WLC netted the first 12 points to open the second quarter to push its lead to 15 points with 5:54 left before halftime. The Warriors went into halftime ahead 35-22.
• WLC then used a big third quarter by out-scoring the Eagles by 14 points. The Warriors scored nine straight points to close the third frame ahead 56-29.
• Wisconsin Lutheran made its first three shots of the fourth quarter and later built its lead to a game-high 36 points with 7:14 remaining on a Maddy Elrod (Conifer, Colo./Conifer) layup.
• The Warriors finished the second half strong, shooting 46.2 percent in each the third and fourth quarters.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Pedersen led three players in double-figures with 15 points. Jen Dowden (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Caitlin Knueppel (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) added 11 points. Elrod finished with nine points and seven rebounds off the bench. 
• Taylor Bahr (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) led the Warriors with eight rebounds, while tallying four steals.
• WLC out-scored Edgewood 24-7 in points off turnovers. Wisconsin Lutheran also controlled points in the paint (28-18) and bench points (18-5).
• The Warriors connected on a season-high 10 three-pointers and turned the ball over just 10 times, a season-low.
• Head Coach Klay Knueppel, who entered the season 28th among NCAA Division III's winningest active coaches, now owns a career coaching record of 224-92 in his 12th season at WLC. Knueppel surpasses Wayne Smith, who won 223 games in 16 seasons as head coach.
• Allison Gordon paced the Eagles with 14 points and Sierra Jiran added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
