William Paterson Women’s Basketball Defeats Rosemont, 61-53

WILLIAMSPORT, PA. – Senior forward Alex Milne (Howell, N.J./Howell) was named to the All-Tournament Team as the William Paterson women's basketball team (6-6) was a 61-53 winner against Rosemont (3-6) Dec. 29 in the consolation game of Lycoming's Hoops for Hounds Classic.

 

Milne had her third straight double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Jackie Rodriguez (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) scored a season-best and game-high 19 tallies, while senior guard Brittany Harden (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) had 17 points, six boards and five assists.

 

The Pioneers limited the Ravens to 3-for-18 (.167) shooting en route to building a 17-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. WP owned a 34-24 halftime edge and a 49-38 advantage at the conclusion of the third quarter as the Pioneers finished with a 50-39 rebounding margin.

 

Senior forward Sadi Bridgeman (Washington Heights, N.Y./Mother Cabrini) and sophomore forward Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) each collected seven rebounds for WP.

 

Senior guard/forward Brianna Macauley led Rosemont with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

 

William Paterson will return to conference action Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Kean at 6:00 p.m.
