Harris Leads Albright Past Cabrini 75-58

RADNOR, Pa. – Senior Kelecia Harris led three players in double figures with 18 points leading No. 20 Albright to a 75-58 non-conference victory over Cabrini on Sunday in Nerney Field House.
 
Harris was a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor and was 2-of-3 from the free throw line to pace the Lions. She also added six rebounds, two blocked shots and one assist.
 
Albright, which improved to 10-0 on the season, also received 17 points from Alysha Lofton and 16 points from Shannon Thomas.
 
The Lions shot 50.0 percent, including 62.5 percent in the first half, from the floor for the game. Albright limited Cabrini to 23.0 percent shooting in the first half and 36.5 percent for the game. It marked the sixth consecutive game in which Albright has limited the opposition to under 37.0 percent shooting.
 
Cabrini, which dropped to 4-5 on the season, was led by Meghan Martin who scored 12 points off the bench. Renee Oliver, Sabrina Hackendorn and Kristina Startare each scored eight points for the Cavaliers.
 
Albright took control of the game early in the first quarter.
 
After Cabrini scored the first two baskets of the game, Albright responded with a 14-0 run to take a 14-4 lead with 3:23 to play in the opening quarter.
 
Harris scored nine points during the run and Thomas added a three-pointer and Lofton capped the run with a pair of free throws.
 
Harris capped the first quarter with a layup that gave the Lions an 18-9 lead.
 
Albright opened the second quarter on a 7-0 run, capped by a three-point play by Emily O'Donnell, to extend the lead to 25-9 with 7:09 to play before halftime.
 
Two free throws by Lofton pushed the Lions lead to 38-18 with 2:25 to play in the second quarter and Nina Mazzarelli hit a three-pointer giving Albright a 41-22 lead at halftime.
 
Lofton scored the opening basket of the third quarter giving Albright its largest lead of the game at 43-22.
 
Cabrini was unable to get the margin under 14 points for the remainder of the game.
 
Albright concludes 2015 undefeated and will return to action on Jan. 2 when it visits defending conference champion Stevenson in a MAC Commonwealth game at 3 p.m.
