LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team pushed out a fifth consecutive victory by besting Saint Mary's College 48-36.

THE DETAILS
The opening quarter was even prior to a 7-0 Benedictine run started on a layup from DeKayla Crayton with 3:32 left in the quarter
Payton Sims drained the only three-pointer of the entire contest with 1:56 remaining to cap the run and make the score 15-8
Benedictine led 17-10 after the first quarter
Georgia Alexakos scored on a jumper at the start of the second to push the lead to 19-10
Two free throws from Alanna Ferry in the closing moments stretched the lead to 11 at 30-19
Benedictine scored the final nine points of the third quarter to open a 41-23 lead on a jumper from Jasma Williams
The run extended to 13-0 with the opening four points of the fourth quarter on baskets from Nicole Botich and Alena Moro
Saint Mary's made a push in the fourth but could pull no closer than 12 points

"Our depth helped us overcome an off-night shooting the ball," head coach Charlie Averkamp said. "We did a nice job defending and received some great contributions from Casey (Williams) and Georgia (Alexakos) to collect another team win."
