Senior guard Jenna Dockter recorded 19 points and six assists as No. 2-ranked St. Thomas never trailed in Friday's 55-47 victory over No. 14 Hope in an NCAA women's basketball playoff game in Crestview Hills, Ky.

The Tommies became just the second conference basketball team to start a season 30-0, joining the 2008-09 St. Thomas men's team.

UST helped limit the Flying Dutch (25-5) to 28 percent shooting from the field and avenged a 71-61 Sweet 16 loss to Hope from March 2013. The Tommies have allowed just 45 points a game in five postseason wins.

Coach Ruth Sinn's Tommies will play Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Elite 8 game against No. 1-ranked Thomas More, a 103-90 winner over Washington (Mo.), with a berth in the March 20-21 Final Four at stake.

St. Thomas lost starter Maggie Weiers and key reserve Hannah Hughes to injuries in the first half. The Toms closed the first half on a 7-0 run and took a 22-13 lead into halftime.

UST built the lead to 20 points and never let Hope climb within seven in the final 20 minutes.

Katie Stone sank four treys and finished with 14 points, and Anna Smith chipped in nine points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 35 minutes. Weiers had nine rebounds in 16 minutes before leaving with an injury late in the first half.
